Obstetrics and Gynecology of Prairie Clinic, S.C

Obstetrics and Gynecology of Prairie Clinic, S.C. provides a full spectrum of healthcare for women. From adolescence through menopause and from infertility to surgical care, Todd Schad, M.D. and Suzanne Welsch, M.D. work to provide the best care for women in the area. Drs. Schad and Welsch have more than 20 years of combined experience in managing women's healthcare needs. Together with Diane Bindl a Nurse Practitioner of Women's Health and Certified Nurse Midwife, they work as a team to assure high quality and a high patient satisfaction.

Keys of Success:

Communication:

The close working relationship of our providers helps make patient care seamless. Both obstetric and surgical cases are reviewed and discussed to help make certain that the best surgical and clinical care is provided. This also allows for better after hours coverage. Labor and delivery is always managed and attended by either Dr. Welsch or Dr. Schad. There are no students or residents managing the labor or being trained at deliveries or during surgery.

Committment:

Availability of appointments: Dr. Schad or Dr. Welsch are able to see new consults within two weeks. They also provide evening hours Monday through Thursday as well as early morning and lunch time availability. In addition they are available on call 24/7 when questions are unable to be answered by nursing staff.

Quality:

Drs. Schad and Welsch have been consistently receiving the highest patient satsifaction, ranking in the top 1% of hospitals nationally. Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital is also noted to have 100% of patients recommending their care to friends/family. SPMH is also ranked in the top 1% nationally in regards to physican/nursing communication which is one of the keys to excellent care. Drs. Welsch and Schad continue to assess their surgical and medical treatments to allow excellent patient outcomes.

Ingenuity:

We are consistently striving to improve the care of our patients. Drs. Schad and Welsch are the only OB/GYN providers in the area that are performing in-office tubal ligations and treatments for heavy periods. This allows lower cost for the patient, the health care system and also allows for shorter recovery times. In addition, they continue to stay up to date with newer technologies such as total laparoscopic hysterectomies to help avoid patients requiring abdominal surgery.
